Stone Makes Bush Almost Lovable in ‘W’

source: traileraddict.com

Another trailer for Oliver Stone‘s controversial George W. Bush biopic has emerged, this time emphasising the zanier aspects of his presidency.

We get to see him on the toilet, choking on a pretzel and even getting told off by daddy. I don’t know about the rest of you, but it seems like Josh Brolin‘s portrayal of Dubya makes him kind of, well, likable.

Oliver Stone has said W will be a ‘fair and true portrait’ of Bush Jnr. Now Stone isn’t exactly known for his tactful objectiveness (See: any Oliver Stone film about anything). However, while it certainly looks like the President and his cronies will be painted as incompetant and irresponsible, I wouldn’t be surprised if the film garnered Bush himself a lot of sympathy.

Will W be this year’s The Queen or this year’s Evita? I guess we’ll have to wait until November to find out.

  1. Hey this movie actually seems decent. I was expecting worst. Though honestly I never thought of Bush as a bad person, just a bad president.
