AFI Names Top 5 Australian Films

source: empire.com.au

In the lead up to the 50th annual AFI awards (December 6), the results of a public opinion poll have been released, finally answering the big question: What are the most popular Aussie films of all time?

In no particular order, the following films were voted as the top five:

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

The Castle

Muriel’s Wedding

Lantana

Gallipoli

We held a poll on our very own site last month, and found the results to be fairly similar.

However, a couple of readers’ favourites have noticably missed the cut (Mad Max, Crocodile Dundee).

What do you guys think? What should have made the top five? Is anything on the list over rated? Let us know!
