Crank 2 makes Crank 1 look like Sense and Sensibility

A very NSFW teaser for Crank: High Voltage has landed online, promising the powerful, emotionally-charged, Oscar-worthy moments that made the original Crank so memorable. Well, that and the public sex scenes.

This movie is going to be nuts.

Jason Statham reprises his role as the unfortunately named Chev Chelios. He has somehow managed to survive his parachute-less skydive, and wakes up with his indestructible heart stolen by the Chinese mafia. In its place – a battery which requires jolts of electricity to keep Chelios alive.

By the way, this Red Band trailer is not for anyone under the age of 17. It’s filled to the brim with coarse language, insane violence and gratuitous nudity. You hear that 16-year-olds? Stay away!

If you’re looking for a good time, go rent the original Crank. It’s one of the most fun (and shamelessly offensive) action films of the last five years. As for the sequel – this trailer has only proven it’s a must-see for 2009. I’ve never seen a teaser that finishes with the ACTUAL FILM CREW celebrating. They know they’re heading for Oscar glory.

Crank: High Voltage is directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, and stars Statham, Amy Smart, Dwight Yoakam and Corey Haim. It hits cinemas August 20th, 2009.
