500 reasons to love Zooey in 500 Days of Summer trailer

The teaser trailer for Marc Webb’s anti-romantic comedy 500 Days of Summer has landed online, although I’ve gotta say – looks pretty romantic to me.

The film stars Joseph Gordon Levitt as lovestruck Tom, and Zooey Deschanel as the titular Summer. The film chronicles the pair’s 500 day relationship, from their matchup to their breakup.

We recently featured 500 Days of Summer in our Top Indie Films of 2009 article, even though it technically isn’t an indie (it was developed by Fox Searchlight). It debuted at Sundance last week to rave reviews, and having finally seen the trailer, it’s not hard to see why.

I’m looking forward to that musical sequence, imaginary or not! And hey, I’ll admit it – I love anything with Ms Deschanel in it. Even The Happening, but probably not for the right reasons.

The picture opens July 24th in the U.S, with an Australian release to follow later in the year.
