Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor are in love!

Today we bring you clips from the highly anticipated Sundance hit I Love You, Phillip Morris starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor.

Jim Carrey stars as Steven Jay Russell, a church going family man who realises he is gay after a near-death experience. He leaves his wife and child to become a con artist and imposter. Eventually his crimes catch up with him and he is imprisoned. It is there he meets his cell mate Phillip Morris (McGregor) and falls in love. After Morris is released from prison, Russell escapes from prison multiple times to be with the love of his life. And it’s based on a true story. Believe it.

The film debuted at Sundance earlier this year and received generally favourable reviews. It is helmed by first time directors Glen Ficarra and John Requa, who co-wrote Bad Santa back in 2003.

So, for those of you that are still game, check out the French theatrical trailer (sorry for the poor quality; I promise to get a better one up as soon as it’s available!) It looks pretty damn funny (and more than a little sweet).

I think this is one film to get excited for. I’m really digging the tone that is set in these two clips. Feels like a bit of a silly dark comedy, but it actually looks pretty touching as well. We all know Carrey and McGregor can handle both sides of that die.

Although there is no U.S or Australian release date yet, I can confirm that the film will hit the Czech Republic on the 16th of April. So, there’s that.
