The bands of Scott Pilgrim revealed! Kinda!

We’re very excited for the upcoming adaptation of Edgar Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim comics, if you haven’t noticed already. Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright is bringing the Canadian comic fantasy to life with Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, starring Michael Cera in the title role.

Wright has been enigmatically teasing fans by posting one picture each day on his MySpace page. Except most of the pictures look like this:

So it’s been kind of frustrating. The majority of the cast has been announced, and you can check out our unofficial photo comparisons over here.

We are however getting closer to official photos of the cast, with Wright revealing the central bands of the film, Sex Bob-omb and The Clash at Demonhead. The comic, which focuses on Pilgrim’s attempts to defeat the seven evil ex-boyfriend’s of his current girlfriend Ramona Flowers, actually features more music than you would expect from an audio-less source. I can’t wait to hear how they sound!

Sex Bob-omb

From left to right: Our hero Scott Pilgrim (Cera) on bass, Stephen Stills (Mark Webber) on lead guitar and vox, Young Neil (Johnny Simmons) on encouragement, and Kim Pine (Alison Pill) on the drums.

The Clash at Demonhead

From left to right: Ramona’s evil vegan ex-boyfriend Todd Ingram (Brandon Routh) on bass, teleporting Lynette Guycott (unknown) on drums, and Scott’s evil ex-girlfriend Envy Adams (Brie Larson) on vox.

Still no release date set for the film. Check our previous reports to learn the story of Scott Pilgrim and meet the rest of the cast!
