Quentin Tarantino‘s Nazi-hunter flick Inglourious Basterds is set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May, as was promised by the auteur himself in 2008.

Although The Weinstein Company and Universal are yet to make an official statement, Tarantino has confirmed the film will be ready in time for the legendary French festival.

The film will screen in competition, and will go up against Pixar’s Up, which is set to open the festival on the 13th of May. The full line-up of the films being screened will be announced April 23rd.

We were big fans of the teaser trailer that debuted back in February, and I personally am looking forward to Tarantino’s latest big time.

Australian fans will have to wait until August 20th to check it out. In the meantime, enjoy these pics from a recent Vanity Fair spread, featuring Brad Pitt and Diane Kruger.

Does anyone else now feel like brutally hunting down Nazi’s? ‘Cos I’m all for it.
