Are you happy movie pirates! You broke Hugh Jackman’s heart!

Hugh Jackman has expressed his disappointment about the leak of his upcoming film X-Men Origins: Wolverine a full month before its worldwide release.

Jackman appeared at Sydney Harbour’s Cockatoo Island to screen 20 (completed) minutes of the film to fans and media. He, astoundingly, used a flying fox to evacuate a helicopter and touch down on the ground. Why? ‘Cos he’s Wolverine.

The screened footage was a stark contrast to the incomplete leaked version of the movie, which was missing dozens of special effects shots.

“Obviously people are seeing an unfinished film. It’s like a Ferrari without a paint job,” Jackman said.

“It’s a serious crime and there’s no doubt it’s very disappointing – I was heartbroken by it.”

The Aussie heartthrob reassured potential pirates that the FBI was closing in on the perpetrator of the biggest leak of a tentpole release in recent history.

He also expressed gratitude towards the internet community and bloggers who had condemned the early leak. Although we haven’t spoken about it on the Quickflix Blog, I am so desperate for some Jackman-approval I would like to wholeheartedly jump on the condemnation bandwagon and say “Naughty movie pirates! Don’t watch Wolverine early!”

X-Men Origins: Wolverine opens April 29 in Australia.

  1. i would rather shoot myself in the foot than miss seein it first at the cinema’s in its complete form

  2. I would have to agree, look at what they miss out on if it leaves out special effects etc. I wouldn’t worry, they are the losers in the end.

  3. Thieves are as old as the world itself. But it is still sad to see such a great release stolen before it is even finished!

  4. Mwahaha, you’ll never catch me alive!I’ll swash buckle you all! Arr!
