Trailer debut: Mike Judge’s Extract

Mike Judge, the patron saint of unsatisfied workers around the globe, is set to release his latest comedy, Extract.

The film stars Jason Bateman as the owner of a flower-extract plant who can’t escape the dissatisfaction in his life. The cast includes the impossibly hilarious Kristen Wiig as his wife, J.K. Simmons as a workmate, Mila Kunis as a temp and Ben Affleck as his stoner buddy.

Interestingly, Mike Judge has made Extract with 20th Century Fox, the very same studio that royally screwed up the distribution of his last film Idiocracy. While I’m not the biggest fan of Idiocracy, the film has some great ideas and some very funny scenes. Extract looks much more promising, if a little Office Space-lite. Let’s hope this flick gets treated better.

Extract opens September 7 in the U.S, with an Australian release to follow.
