Scott Pilgrim video blog better than most feature films

We’re pretty excited for Edgar Wright‘s upcoming adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s comic series Scott Pilgrim vs The World, if you can’t already tell.

For a film without a trailer or non-blurry/obscured set picture, Wright is doing a great job of building buzz around his Michael Cera-starring film. The film tells the story of a Canadian slacker who must do battle with his girlfriend’s seven evil ex’s.

While we love the daily images Wright posts to his official blog, it’s a relief to finally see some footage after months of tantalising driblets. Not that we’d ever rag on those blurry images! Here is one such picture from Wright’s blog. It features Cera as our hero Scott Pilgrim, being addressed by his gay roommate Wallace Wells (Kieran Culkin).

You can check out new video blogs over at every week. Meanwhile, take a gander at the great 2nd video below, in which the film’s stars discuss the first day of production. Note Mary Elizabeth Winstead, complete with blue hair, as Pilgrim’s love interest Ramona Flowers. Ramona, Mary Elizabeth. Whoever. We love her.

(Sorry gang, having trouble getting the official embed to work. In the meantime, here’s the youtube version.)

That Mikey Cera is a funny dude. Having rewatched Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead recently, I am only further convinced that Edgar Wright is one of the most talented action/comedy directors around. As a big fan of the comics, I have complete faith that this film is in good hands. Can we have a trailer soon please Mr. Wright? Or at least an official looking photograph? Thankyou.
