Futurama cast returning to work

Lower your phaser’s fanboys. The original voice cast of Futurama have finally inked a deal with Fox Studios and will continue to work on the show’s upcoming season.

We reported late last month that Fox were looking to recast the main roles of the cult series following pay disputes with the actors.

The Toronto Star are now reporting that most of the cast are all officially set to return with a slightly lower pay.

According to Hitfix, lead voice actors John DiMaggio and Billy West are close to signing. It is likely they are attempting to bargain for a higher rate.

A joint statement was released by Futurama creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen:

“We are thrilled to have our incredible cast back. The call has already `gone out to the animators to put the mouths back on the characters.”

Futurama will return to television screens in 2010.

Discuss: It looks as if this is going to be a good week. What are your thoughts on the announcement?
