Joss Whedon fans unite! ‘Can’t Stop the Serenity’ hits Melbourne!

Tens of thousands of Joss Whedon fans around the world will participate in “Can’t Stop the Serenity”, a charity event that will raise money for Equality Now.

The Australian leg of the event will take place this Sunday, the 30th of August, at VCA Federation Hall in Melbourne.

Whedon’s beloved cult sci-fi film Serenity and his soon-to-be-classic web series Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog will be screened as part of the festivities. Fans also have the opportunity to win some signed items.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online for $15 or $20 at the door.

Part of the proceeds of the event will go to Equality Now, a charity dedicated to protecting the human rights of struggling women and girls around the world.

If you’re in Melbourne and love Whedon (who doesn’t?) then go contribute to this worthy cause.

In the meantime, catch up on his brilliant shows Buffy, Angel and Firefly!

Discuss: Favourite Whedon thing? Although I love Buffy, my heart belongs to Dr. Horrible.

  1. ATM I'm loving the under-rated Dollhouse. Of course it's not as good as any of his others but once you get past the first few episodes it starts to get much, much better. I'm also looking forward to The Cabin In The Woods next year.
