The release date of the The Green Hornet has been pushed back from July 2010 to December 2010.
The Seth Rogen-toplined flick was given an extra six months for post-production; the result of the film’s numerous special effects.
The film is being directed by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Be Kind Rewind). It began production in Los Angeles earlier this week.
Rogen will star as crime-fighting vigilante The Green Hornet while Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou will play his sidekick Kato. Nicolas Cage is slated to play the villain and Cameron Diaz will appear as Rogen’s love interest.
The Green Hornet will hit cinemas December 17th, 2010.
Discuss: While the American summer is a juicy time for blockbusters to make some coin, the December release can also be quite profitable. The December 17th release date has previously been given to I Am Legend and will also see the release of (suspected hit) Avatar. So, good news then?
