If vigilantes were real – Defendor trailer debut!

The trailer for the indie-superhero flick Defendor has debuted online and it is one of the most intriguing teasers I’ve seen this year.

Woody Harrelson stars as Arthur Poppington, a make-shift superhero on the hunt for a mysterious villain named Captain Industry.

The film is the directorial debut of television writer Peter Stebbings. Defendor is set to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival later this week.

There is a pretty intriguing premise to play around with here. It looks as if Stebbings is taking the whole “what if people actually dressed up and fought crime” scenario to its most brutal conclusion.

Defendor does not yet have a distributor, and therefore, no release date in Australia. However, after the picture screens at TIFF, hopefully we will be able to report that a studio has bought the film and plans to bring it down to Oz.

Defendor also stars Kat Dennings and Elias Koteas.
