Jacko’s last stand – This Is It trailer debut!

source: mtv.com

The trailer for the Michael Jackson concert-film/documentary This Is It debuted at yesterday’s MTV’s Video Music Awards. It was shortly interrupted by Kanye West who insisted that while Jackson may have been an entertaining performer, Beyonce had the best music video of the decade.

OK, so that bit about Kanye West is a lie. But the trailer is real. The film has been pieced together from rehearsal footage of the late-King of Pop’s ill-fated comeback tour. It is directed by High School Musical-auteur Kenny Ortega.

Check the trailer out below:

There is obviously a morose curiosity tied to this film; after all, this is literally a documentation of Jackson’s final days.

However, there seems to be a joyous tone to this trailer. And to see all those classic songs on the big screen? I’m sold.

This Is It opens worldwide October 30, 2009. It will run for two weeks only.

Discuss: Are you more curious to see a Jackson concert film or a documentary on his last days?
