The New Moon trailer is actually … good?!?

Another (yes, another) trailer for The Twilight Saga’s New Moon has debuted online following its premiere at that awards show where Kanye West proved he is the most hilarious man in show business. God, I love me some Kanye West. Ah dear. Funny dude. What were we talking about?

I’m just teasing of course. As if I could ever be distracted from Twilight. As regular readers of this blog are quite aware, I might be the person most-obsessed with Twilight in Australia. And not in a good way.

But believe it or not people, I found this new trailer … kind of … good.

Now before you drag me into a wicker man for being such a turncoat, let me at least justify my embarrassing admission.

In this trailer, we get to see something that was sorely missing from the first Twilight film: a shred of narrative tension. We are finally introduced to the Volturi; those creepy vampire lawmakers played by Michael Sheen and Dakota Fanning. We also see Bella (Kristen Stewart) literally go insane, writhing in bed and screaming because her beloved Edward (The Hair) has abandoned her. And we also get to see boy/werewolf-next-door Jacob (Taylor Lautner) being totally pimp and picking Bella up on the rebound. Way to be sly, slick willy!

Check it out for yourselves!

To reclaim at least a shred of dignity, I stand by my original assessment that the werewolves look totally lame; even more so when being beaten up by full-grown men. Also, some of the CGI in this trailer is so bad … I literally can’t find an insult funnier than it’s very own amateurishness.

The Twilight Saga’s New Moon opens November 19th in Australia. It is directed by Chris Weitz.

Discuss: How ashamed of me are you all?

  1. Well, normally i would be mortified, but then i found the new moon more than mildly engaging. although i relied too much on soaring choir orchestra (you know, cliche trailer music) it was still interesting. Maybe there is hope left in this dead horse yet?well no, not really, but for now itll do.

  2. You are so right. This trailer is ten billion times better than the last one with the wooden party scene. I am still looking forward to November 19 so I can make up my own mind about it. If I am bitterly disappointed well so be it but I'm going to at least give it a shot!

  3. well… that didn't suck. And at least they didn't use Carmina Burana as the music. Which CGI was bad? There wasn't much to see here.
