20th Century Fox have cast Sharlto Copley in the coveted role of ‘Howling Mad’ Murdoch in the upcoming A-Team big-screen remake.
The 35-year-old South African actor emerged from obscurity after being given the starring role in his buddy Neill Blomkamp‘s hit film District 9.
Copley will join Liam Neeson (Col. John ‘Hannibal’ Smith), Bradley Cooper (Lt. Templeton ‘Face’ Peck) and Quintin ‘Rampage’ Jackson (B.A. Baracas) in the Joe Carnahan-directed feature film.
Jessica Biel and Patrick Wilson have also reportedly signed on to star.
The film will be an adaptation of the legendary 1980’s television show about four war veterans wrongly convicted of a crime they didn’t commit.
Carnahan’s adaptation is set to be a more serious take on the goofy TV show.
Production began last week and will hit Australian cinemas June 10th, 2010.
Discuss: We’re big fans of Neeson, Cooper and Copley over here, but we’re not really sure about the casting of UFC star ‘Rampage’ Jackson in the role made famous by Mr. T. What are your thoughts on the new A-Team?
Hell why don't they just get Mr T. He looks pretty much the same as he did back then, even now. He looks great in the Snickers ads and is as great as ever.
