Filming has begun on Chris Lilley‘s new television program Angry Boys, an unprecedented 12-part production between the ABC, HBO and the BBC.
It is the first time Australia’s public broadcaster has entered into co-production with America’s HBO, home of True Blood, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Entourage.
Although little is known about Angry Boys, it will be a mockumentary series in which Lilley explores the meaning of being a boy in the 21st century. He will no doubt play a host of characters as in previous shows We Can Be Heroes and Summer Heights High. It is unknown if any of his previous creations will return.
It will be interesting to see if this added international exposure turns Angry Boys into an Office-sized hit.
Discuss: Does Lilley have a third mockumentary series in him?
