Claymaniacs rejoice! Oscar winning filmmaker Adam Elliot is sending the stars of his critically acclaimed claymation flick Mary and Max on the road.
Mary and Max: The Exhibition will feature props, stills, sets, storyboards and the two eponymous characters from Elliot’s feature-length debut film.
The exhibition can currently be seen at Melbourne’s Australian Centre for the Moving Image until June 6. It will then go on tour across regional Victoria throughout 2010 and 2011. Venues will be announced later this week. If the exhibit is anything like the film, then it will no doubt be a wondrous and charming experience.
In the meantime, you can read my rave review of Mary and Max and add it to your Queue here. Otherwise, you can check out Elliot’s short film Harvie Krumpet, for which he won the Best Short Film (Animated) Oscar in 2003.
