Who do YOU want to win big at the Oscars?

There is less than a week to go until the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hand out Oscars to Christoph Waltz and Mo’nique. Oh, and they will probably reveal the other winners of this year’s Academy Awards also.

As is tradition, we at the Quickflix offices are finalising the entry forms for our office pool, arguing vehemently over any and every topic. Is Inglourious Basterds the only deserving Best Picture winner? Does Fantastic Mr. Fox deserve to win Best Animated Feature over Up? Do we really want to live in a world where Sandra Bullock beats Meryl Streep to an Oscar?

Clearly, we cannot be trusted to guess the winners on our own. And frankly, it’s not that interesting to guess who is going to win. It’s far more fun to argue over who should win (which is why I supplied my Oscar wishlist instead of predictions of the nominees).

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been asking readers of the Quickflix Blog to vote on their preferred winners in each of the major categories. As far as we’re concerned, they’re the only pundits worth asking. Although their selections may not correlate with the Academy’s decisions, they provide an interesting insight into the tastes of our readers.

And as always, we will passionately argue (for and against) each selection in the comments section below. Care to join us?
