Hey Quickflixers! Welcome to a new feature that will appear on the blog every Wednesday, highlighting our favourite news items from the past 7 days, as well as notable box office and weekly rental figures.
So, what did we learn this past week?
On April 1st, there were three surprise announcements: 1) there would be a Golden Girls movie starring Carey Mulligan and Zoe Saldana; 2) Kick Ass would be pulled from release and 3) The Twilight Saga was actually just a figment of our imagination. Much hilarity (and even more groaning) ensued.
Then, there were four days of nothing even remotely newsworthy. Everyone was too busy watching Clash of the Titans, which became the highest grossing Easter flick in Australian history, proving that people will see a film that is both mind-numbingly boring and visually unpleasant if it stars someone from Rockingham.
We were then treated to trailers for MacGruber and Dinner for Schmucks, which generated varying degrees of laughter.
Look forward to news next week of our nation’s children being irreversibly corrupted by Kick Ass.
