I have to say – I didn’t actually believe this movie would ever happen. Robert Rodriguez is famous for announcing projects that never eventuate to anything. But here we are, with a brand new trailer for a feature-length version of Machete.
Fans of Rodriguez/Tarantino‘s Grindhouse project may recall the hilarious fake trailer for a exploitation film called Machete, in which Danny Trejo played a murderous Mexican immigrant.
That trailer has been expanded to an actual really real film co-strarring Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Jeff Fahey, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson, Lindsay Lohan, Steven Seagal and, ahem, Robert DeNiro.
Aint It Cool News premiered the exclusive “illegal” trailer, with a special message attached from Trejo himself for the entire state of Arizona (who recently passed a controversial anti-immigration law).

Machete, co-directed by Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis, opens September 8th in the U.S. with an Australian release date to hopefully follow.
