The Adjustment Bureau trailer debut

The trailer for George Nolfi’s sci-fi drama The Adjustment Bureau, starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt, has debuted online.

Based loosely on Philip K. Dick’s short story Adjustment Team, The Adjustment Bureau tells the story of a U.S. Congressman (Damon) who finds himself kept apart from the love of his life (Blunt) by a series of mysterious circumstance.

Although this is the first bit of footage we’ve seen from the film, it’s easy to note comparisons with similar reality-shifting films such as Dark City, The Matrix, and hell, even Inception.

Also, the titular bureau – comprised of stern looking men in hats* – seem like a combination of Agent Smith and the Strangers.

Take a look at the trailer below and share your thoughts on The Adjustment Bureau. (Thanks Trailer Addict!)

The Adjustment Bureau also stars Anthony Mackie, John Slattery, Terence Stamp and Shohreh Aghdashloo. It opens October 7th, 2010 in Australia.

*They’re significantly less cheerful than the Men Without Hats.
