Why I Adore…

Today I’d like to draw your attention to an exciting new Australian film blog – WHY I ADORE – dedicated to the rapturous love we all share for movies and television.

The site is the brain child of Paul Nelson, who encourages readers to share their love for a film, a TV show, an actor, a filmmaker, a technician, a scene, a shot, a moment, a genre, or even a period of time in TV/film history. He has but one rule: no negativity. As he states so eloquently:

“Yes, it’s a love-in — without the distracting dangly bits — and you’re all invited.”

I was honoured to be the first guest writer for the blog, sending my warm fuzzies to John McTiernan‘s classic action flick Die Hard. Sample quote:

“I had to consider a film that I truly adored in a completely intangible way. One that I could barely discuss without sounding like an excited tweenage girl listing her favourite moments from a Justin Beiber concert. And no film sends me back to my tweenage self like John McTiernan’s DIE HARD – it regularly sits atop my Flickchart, is my go-to sick-at-home DVD and holds the record for most. viewings. ever.”

You can read the rest over here.

Nelson intends on featuring one new article every week, so be sure to keep an eye on his online commune here:

Oh, and don’t forget to share the love.

Discuss: What do you adore?
