Conchords’ Clement cast as baddie in MIB 3

Jemaine Clement, one half of the folk-comedy duo Flight of the Conchords, has been cast as the villain in Men In Black 3.

According to Deadline, Clement will play the film’s primary antagonist, an alien named Yaz. Sacha Baron Cohen was also being considered for the role. (The Hollywood Reporter are calling the villain Boris – we can probably expect the final name to be something completely different).

Will Smith will reprise his role as Agent J in the upcoming sequel, although Tommy Lee Jones‘ involvement has not been officially confirmed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Brolin is expected to play a young version of Jones’ character Agent K, with Jones’ appearing at the film’s bookends. Much of the film is expected to take place in 1969. However, even though Brolin has raved about the script, his involvement is also not yet set in stone.

Barry Sonnenfeld is also returning to direct. It hits cinemas May 2012. And you guessed it – it will be in 3D.

Discuss: Here’s an idea – maybe Will Smith can duet with Clement on a theme song? This just got interesting…
