Scott Adams’ comic strip Dilbert is set to head to the big screen. A live-action feature based on the white-collar office drone is being developed by Phoenix Entertainment, with Ken Kwapis (He’s Just Not That Into You) set to direct.
The scoop comes from Pajiba, who note that Chris Columbus previously held the film rights to Dilbert back in 2007.
I adore the Dilbert comic (like everyone else, ever), and also have a soft spot for the animated series. As for a live-action version, I’m less enthused. However, despite Kwapis’ dubious cinematic credits (which also include Licence to Wed and Beautician and the Beast), he has done some great work as director of episodes of The Office (a tonal stone’s throw away from the comic).
No production start date or release date yet. In the meantime, watch Office Space.
Discuss: OK, let the casting rumours begin! Is Drew Carey available?
