Do we dare feign surprise? Of course Avatar was going to debut in the top spot. It beat a whole bunch of popular new releases such as It’s Complicated, Did You Hear About The Morgans, Zombieland, Sherlock Holmes, The Lovely Bones and Up in the Air. Last month’s victor 2012 slipped only one position, just ahead of New Moon in third place. Chart-topping regulars Julie and Julia and The Ugly Truth filled out the top five.
