Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 trailer debut

Hold onto your broomsticks! The teaser trailer for Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows (Part 1) has premiered online after making its debut at the MTV Movie Awards over the weekend.

Danny Radcliffe is back as Harry Potter, and this time … he’s conflicted! Well, even more conflicted than usual. He’s joined by Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) on his hunt for the seven Horcruxes necessary to wipe out Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) once and for all.

The seventh film of the Harry Potter saga is simply an adaptation of the first half of J.K. Rowling’s final book. We’ll have to wait until 2011 to see the tale’s resolution in Part 2 (yes, there will be eight films all up).

Check out the teaser below and let us know your thoughts! (Thanks TrailerAddict!)

The trailer certainly tones down the magic and amps up the Twilight-esque angst. But considering how far Radcliffe and co. have come as dramatic actors over the course of the previous six films, I daresay they’re ready to pull off one hell of an emotive finale.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1, directed by David Yates, hits cinemas November 18, 2010.

Discuss: Does this trailer adequately convey the necessary drama of The Deathly Hallows? Will it be able to compete with The Twilight Saga’s impressive pout-per-second rate?
