The trailer for Sofia Coppola‘s latest film Somewhere has debuted online, and it’s as gorgeous to behold as the talented director’s previous films.
Somewhere stars Stephen Dorff as a bad-boy A-list actor living a life of excess at the Chateau Marmont Hotel. When he is joined by his 11-year-old daughter Cleo (Elle Fanning) he finds himself rediscovering his true-self.
Yes, it’s very “Sofia Coppola”.
Marie Antoinette may have been a showcase for Coppola’s worst excesses, but it’s important to remember the heights she reached with Lost in Translation. Somewhere looks as if it evokes a similar tone, and could possibly be as good an examination of loneliness and human connection as that great film.

Somewhere opens in the U.S. on December 22nd, with an Australian release to hopefully follow.
