Sex and the City 2 proved to be the most popular film in Australia two weeks in a row, besting new entry The A-Team. However, the street art “documentary” Exit Through The Gift Shop had the highest per-screen average of any film, taking $17,467 on only five screens. Animal Kingdom had the second-best per-screen average. The critically acclaimed feature has grossed nearly $2 million after two weeks. In fact, its second week grosses were 27% higher than its opening week tally. Previews for Shrek Forever After did gangbusters, while the advance screenings for Get Him To The Greek played within the same region as past Judd Apatow-produced films. Both should have solid runs when they officially open this week.
