Jack may indeed go boating, but it seems Philip Seymour Hoffman has gone directing. For your viewing pleasure, here is the brand new trailer for Hoffman’s directorial debut, Jack Goes Boating.
Hoffman stars as a lonely limo driver (with dreadlocks!) who begins dating the sweet Connie (Amy Ryan), while the relationship of the couple who introduced them to one another (John Ortiz and Daphne Rubin-Vega) begins to disintegrate.

Screenwriter Bob Glaudini adapted the film from his own off-Broadway play, which debuted to mild acclaim at Sundance earlier this year. Although there is no official Australian release date set, we will hopefully see the titular Jack go boating before the end of the year. Any film starring the always-wonderful Hoffman and Ryan deserves a watch.
Discuss: A genuine Oscar contender (a’la The Savages, Little Miss Sunshine), or does JGB look too quirky (a’la Away We Go, Sunshine Cleaning)?
