New pictures from Never Let Me Go

We’re very much looking forward to Mark Romanek‘s adaptation of the acclaimed novel Never Let Me Go. To help satiate our anticipation, Fox Searchlight have unveiled a batch of new shots from the very pretty looking film (courtesy of Slashfilm).

The film is based upon Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel of the same name, which was hailed by TIME magazine as the best book of 2005, and also made an appearance on their list of 100 Best English-Language Novels from 1923-2005. Alex Garland (Sunshine, 28 Days Later) penned the adaptation for Romanek.

The picture stars Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley and (new Spider-man) Andrew Garfield as three friends who reunite to reflect on their time at a mysterious private school, and uncover the secrets of their past.

Check out the (suitably) vague trailer here. Never Let Me Go opens October 1st in the U.S. with an Australian release to follow.

Discuss: I’ve had Ishiguro’s novel sitting on my shelf for some time now, but I intend to finish it before catching the film later this year. Anyone else read it?
