Lost’s Ben and Locke to star in buddy comedy

Hmm, maybe The Secret was on to something.* Today we have news of a project that seems to have been willed into existence by the feverish dreams and prayers of every Lost fan on the planet. Terry O’Quinn and Michael Emerson (better known as Lost’s Locke and Ben) are set to star in a new TV show produced by J.J. Abrams.

Rumours of a post-Lost collaboration between O’Quinn and Emerson (tentatively titled Odd Jobs) emerged back in February. O’Quinn told TV Guide that they were hoping to star as “suburban hit men juggling family issues”. Emerson later verified claims the duo were hoping to work together on a project, albeit a more lighthearted one than Lost (in which they frequently tried to kill one another).

Earlier this week it was revealed that Abrams and collaborators Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec (Alias) were pitching the show to networks as a comedic drama in which the duo would play former black ops agents.

According to Vulture, NBC has landed the rights to the project, fending off strong interest from other networks.

So, what’s next? NBC have made a pilot commitment to the show, which we’ll likely see next year.

To quote another beloved character from Lost: “Dude!”

Discuss: *By the way, The Secret most definitely wasn’t on to something. It’s silly.
