Theatrical Trailer: 127 Hours

The theatrical trailer for Danny Boyle‘s 127 Hours – the director’s follow-up to his Best Picture Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire – has debuted online. The film stars James Franco as Aron Ralston, the real-life mountain climber who was forced to amputate his own arm after being trapped by a boulder for, well, 127 hours.

I had mixed feelings on the teaser trailer that arrived back in August, which tried to sell the film as more of a kinetic action thriller than a character drama. I think this newer, longer trailer restores the balance accordingly.

We’re still given a taste of Boyle’s offbeat visual style, yet now we’re also offered the different shades of Franco’s Ralstan. (Frankly, he seemed kind of annoying in the teaser).

Anyway, enough yapping. Check it out below!

Apple also debuted the film’s brand new poster, which you check out below. Is it just us, or is there something erotic about that picture? We can’t quite put our finger on it.

127 Hours arrives in Australian cinemas March 17, 2011.

Discuss: Does it look like two pregnant women holding an M&M with their bellies? Hmm, you decide.
