Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock and Oprah Winfrey are set to star in an ensemble comedy from writer/director Michael Patrick King (Sex and the City).
According to Deadline, the film will be set “in the world of a Home Shopping-type network, where characters make their way through the maze of mania that surrounds marketing, marriages and the media.”
King is expected to complete the screenplay by January, and – pending the availability of the actresses – intends to shoot the film mid-2011.
Although King’s feature film credentials leave a lot to be desired – “Abu Dhabi Doo!” – it’s hard to deny the appeal of these three actresses uniting for a smart, snappy comedy. Let’s hope it’s more like Sex and the City: The TV Show, and less like Sex and the City: The Movie.
Discuss: Can King pull it off?
