Trailer Debut: Sucker Punch

The first theatrical trailer for Zack Snyder‘s Sucker Punch has debuted online. It offers us our first proper glimpse at the film’s plot (we had previously assumed it would merely be a montage of a teenage boy’s wildest fantasies).

The film stars Australia’s own Emily Browning as Babydoll, a young girl who uses her imagination to escape from the mental institution in which she is confined. Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone and Vanessa Hudgens all star as fellow inmates who are trying to help her literally escape from the asylum where she is wrongly imprisoned. The film also stars Carla Gugino, Scott Glenn and Jon Hamm.

Check out the trailer below (or take a gander in HD over at Apple):

The “you must find five objects” thread seems a little too video-gamey; however, the visual spectacle is still mighty enticing.

Sucker Punch arrives in Australian cinemas March 24.

Discuss: Are you as concerned about the “five objects” thing as I am, or are the striking visuals enough to keep you excited?
