Cowboys and Ninjas and Vikings, oh my!

Zombieland screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have sold a pitch to Disney that is sure to entice teenage boys much in the same way as their Zombieland did last year.

According to Deadline, Wernick and Reese will adapt the graphic novel Cowboy Ninja Viking by AJ Lieberman and Riley Rossmo for the big screen.

The comic tells the story of a multiple personality disorder patient who is trained to be an assassin by a mysterious organisation. As you may have already gathered, his individual personalities take on the form of a Cowboy, a Ninja and a Viking. He’s a triple threat!

Disney is on the hunt for directors.

Discuss: This sounds very cool (as does Cowboys and Aliens and Monsters vs Aliens). But is this the start of an odd trend in which studios only green-light films that combine buzzwords aimed squarely at teenage boys?
