In what looks to be an ANZAC-style alliance of comic Avengers, members of two much-loved comedy duos are teaming up for a new film.
According to Flicks, New Zealand’s Bret McKenzie (Flight of the Conchords) and Australia’s Hamish Blake (the recently defunct Hamish and Andy radio show) will play former-BFFs in the Robert Sarkies-directed Two Little Boys.
Robert is the brother of Duncan Sarkies, who penned the book of the same name.
Flicks have the synopsis:
“It follows Nige (McKenzie), his recently estranged best mate Deano (Blake) and their misadventures as they struggle with their imploding long-term friendship which has been put under pressure by an unfortunate incident involving a hot meat pie, a ginger cat and the untimely death of a Scandinavian soccer star.”
Two Little Boys begins shooting in Southland, New Zealand in January of 2011.
Discuss: Blake and McKenzie working together? Surely cameos from Jemaine Clement and Andy Lee are a given. Both duos are wildly talented, and combining Hamish and Bret is a brilliant move. This is genuinely exciting…
