Raised on anger and seclusion in the middle of a Finnish forest by father Erik Heller (Eric Bana), fourteen-year-old Hanna (Saoirse Ronan) is an isolated killing machine. Set upon fulfilling her father’s vendetta against CIA operative Marissa Wiegler (Cate Blanchett), it seems the seclusion, at least, is about to change.
Icy and dramatic and, by the looks of it, full of fast-paced action sequences, Hanna is likely to become one of 2011’s most anticipated titles. One thing’s for sure; this is one lass that can certainly kick ass!
Check out the trailer below:
Hanna stars Eric Bana, Cate Blanchett and Saoirse Ronan and is directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, The Soloist). A US/UK/German co-production, this film certainly looks like it will be a well executed, chilling tale so let’s keep our fingers crossed that it’s not just the “best bits” that made the trailer.
The US and UK release date is set for April 8 2011 but its Australian release date is yet to be announced.
Discuss: Will Hanna be a gripping, nuanced drama or a “twist” driven thriller? Either way, my money’s on Wiegler (Blanchett) being her mum.
>Ha! Yeah, I thought the same thing about her being the mum. Hope that's not meant to be a massive, earth-shattering twist…
>Looks good. Seriously hope you guys haven't given a plot secret away….
