>Online Film Critics Society names The Social Network ‘Best Picture’

>The Online Film Critics Society – comprised of some of the finest film writers on the internet and, somewhat incongruously, myself – have revealed the winners of their 2010 awards poll.

David Fincher’s ‘Facebook movie’ The Social Network picked up Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay (Aaron Sorkin). It continues the film’s guild awards sweep (including Best Picture prizes at the … deep breath … National Board of Review, Washington DC Area Film Critics Association, Los Angeles Film Critics Association, Boston Society of Film Critics, New York Film Critics Online, Southeastern Film Critics Association, Indiana Film Journalists Association and the New York Film Critics Circle). The Social Network is looking more and more like a Best Picture Oscar lock.

But back to the OFCS. Inception nabbed two prizes (Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing), while four films (The King’s Speech, Black Swan, The Fighter and True Grit) shared the acting awards.
