>Reboot-happy Warner Bros are getting ready to bring everyone’s favourite undercover journalist Fletch back to the big screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, WB has purchased the rights to Gregory McDonald’s 11-book series upon which the 1985 Chevy Chase vehicle was based upon.
No director or star is yet attached to the project.
This will not be Hollywood’s first attempt to resuscitate the Fletch franchise following the 1989 bomb Fletch Lives.
For much of the 2000s, the Weinsteins tried to get the project underway, first with Kevin Smith attached to write and direct and Jason Lee in the lead, later with Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence and Zack Braff, and most recently, with Steve Pink at the helm and Joshua Jackson as star.
Fourth time’s a charm?
