You’ve seen the poster, now watch the trailer! The first footage from the Judd Apatow-produced, Paul Feig-directed, Kristen Wiig-scripted comedy Bridesmaids has debuted online.
As we wrote yesterday, Wiig stars as Annie, Maid of Honour for Lillian’s (Maya Rudolph) wedding. When plans for the wedding start to fall apart, competitive Helen (Rose Byrne) attempts to usurp Annie as head bridesmaid.
The trailer is pretty damn funny, which would be the least of our expectations considering the pedigree working behind this film (including uberproducer Apatow of Knocked Up and Superbad fame, a director who created one of the greatest television shows of all-time – Freaks and Geeks – and a cast of wildly talented actresses). If you’re not yet sold, allow me to lazily describe it as a female version of The Hangover (I’m not proud of that).
Check out the trailer and share your thoughts below! (Also, watch in HD on Apple.)

Bridesmaids also stars Melissa McCarthy (Gilmore Girls), Wendi McLendon-Covey (Reno 911), Ellie Kemper (The Office), and Jon Hamm. It opens May 2011.
Discuss: Does it meet your high expectations? (And yes, we’re assuming your expectations are high.).
>Quite frankly, its a schmorgasboard. Ellie Kemper, Kristen Wiig, Rose Byrne Wendi-McLendon Covey and Maya Rudolph are all exceedingly attractive women. Bridesmaids looks like it could be hilarious. I'll watch that.
