>Dracula detective movie in the works

>It seems there is yet another version of Bram Stoker’s Dracula in the works and it looks like Warner Bros are closing the deal on it, Deadline report. Harker, with a spec script by Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy, will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (House of Wax remake, Orphan and the upcoming Unknown).

The title comes from the script’s central protagonist, Scotland Yard detective Jonathan Harker, who is tracking Dracula. The premise allows for a sleuth franchise to evolve, which means once it gets off the ground Harker might well be here to stay.

Harker is set to be produced by Appian Way, whose partners are Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran. Appian have a first look deal with Warner Bros, and even though other studios have had a peak at the project, Warner is expected to take it on.

Leonardo DiCaprio has no present plans to act in the film and no casting for the lead has yet been announced. More news as it unfolds…

Discuss: Who do you think should play our new vampire franchise sleuth?

  1. >Why can't they just make the original story right in the first place before they start doing remakes and weird versions

  2. >I agree, so bored of the same rehash and multi million dollar movies with poor scripts, bad lines and quick sales
