First it was David O. Russell. Then it was Mike White. Now, it looks as if Lionsgate’s long-delayed adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will be helmed by Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl, Fright Night).
The script, penned by Russell, has set tongues wagging, but the studio has been unable to lock in a director. According to Vulture, Gillespie is now front-runner for the role.
The adaptation will be produced by Natalie Portman, although the Oscar nominated actress will not star as the zombie-hunting version of Jane Austen’s legendary heroine Elizabeth Bennett.
