Aussie actress joins Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

You might remember us telling you back in January that Fox had started casting their 3D flick Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Well, according to Latino Review, casting has not only commenced but the role of leading lady Mary Todd (Mr. Lincoln’s wife) has been filled – by an Aussie no less!

The Hollywood Reporter last week broke the news that Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Death Proof, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and Australia’s own Robin McLeavy (The Loved Ones) were in the running for the part.

Latino Review confirm that McLeavy bagged herself the role thanks to director Timur Bekmambetov’s active decision to cast the film with “up and comers”. McLeavy also so happens to fit the physical specifications of the part: a petite twenty-year-old brunette.

As for the rest of the cast, Abe himself will be played by Benjamin Walker (Flags of Our Fathers); Henry Sturges – Abe’s mentor – will be played by Dominic Cooper (An Education, Tamara Drewe); and Abe’s best mate Will is to be played by Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker,).

Discuss: How do you think our Robin will fair as one of the good guys?
