Apatow to produce celebrity satire Do Gooders

Comedy King and ultra busy filmmaker Judd Apatow is set to produce Do Gooders for Universal, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Details of the project are being tightly guarded, though the screenplay, based on a pitch by Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck, is said to focus on a group of actors who want to reach out and help people.

Gregory and Huyck are television writers who have worked on King of the Hill and The Tracy Morgan Show amongst other smaller projects. The duo recently co-wrote and directed A Good Old Fashioned Orgy, a comedy about a group of high school friends who decide, at age 30, to throw an end-of-summer orgy. Sounds right up Apatow’s alley!

The film will not be directed by Apatow but produced under his banner Apatow Productions.

Discuss: Which celebrity ‘do gooders’ would you like to see skewered by Apatow and co?
