Amy Adams to join Rock of Ages?

Amy Adams is in talks to join the cast of Adam Shankman’s upcoming musical Rock of Ages.

According to Deadline, Shankman wants her for the role of an uptight journalist who is bedded by debauched rock star Stacee Jax (Tom Cruise).

Anne Hathaway was originally offered the role, but a scheduling conflict with The Dark Knight Rises means the role is now Adams’ for the taking.

If she scores the role, we’ll get to see Cruise and Adams duet to Foreigner’s I Want To Know What Love Is. Well, at least we know she has a lovely singing voice.

The film, based on the Tony-award winning prize of the same name, will also star Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin.
