Bryan Cranston is in talks to play the villain in the upcoming remake of Total Recall.
The long gestating retooling of the 1990 Paul Verhoeven flick (itself based upon Philip K. Dick’s story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale) is set to star Colin Farrell as a factory worker who begins to suspect he is a secret agent. The tale will be a departure from previous incarnations, and will primarily focus on the nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Breaking Bad star Cranston would play “Vilos Cohaagen, the leader of Euromerica who, under the cover of protecting his people, is secretly readying an invasion of New Shanghai”.
Len Wiseman (Die Hard 4.0) is set to direct.
