Four minutes of Green Lantern debuts online

A bunch of new footage from Martin Campbell‘s upcoming superhero flick Green Lantern debuted at Wondercon over the weekend, and Warner Bros have uploaded half of it online for the rest of us to enjoy.

The footage primarily focuses on the DC property’s more fantastical elements, particularly the army of alien Green Lanterns on the planet of Oa. We also see Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds), the first human Lantern, receiving training from bird-beaked Tomar-Re (voiced by Geoffrey Rush) and Sinestro (Mark Strong).

Of course, this means there’s not much footage of Earth-dwelling Blake Lively, which is a damn shame.

Check out the footage below (or, in High Def at Apple):

Green Lantern hits cinemas June 17, 2011.

Discuss: The sci-fi/fantasy elements certainly set Green Lantern apart from the grittier superhero flicks we’ve gotten used to. Is this a selling point for you, or a deterrent?
