Trailer Debut: The Change-Up

The high-concept body-swap comedy is as old as time itself. The latest stars to undergo the cosmic transformation are Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds in the bawdy new comedy The Change-Up.

You can probably guess the plot, but for tradition’s sake: Reynolds stars as single lady-killer Mitch and Bateman as exhausted family man Dave. After an evening of drinking, the two best friends profess their desire to switch lives, and the universe offers them an opportunity to do just that. Hijinks, predictably, ensue.

Check out the red-band (but mostly tame) trailer below:

Directed by David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) and penned by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (The Hangover), the film also stars Olivia Wilde and Leslie Mann.

The Change-Up arrives in Australian cinemas August 18, 2011.

Discuss: Has the genre been done to death, or could Reynolds and Bateman inject some life into it?
